GravBall

08/26/12 - Decided to set up a journal for another game idea I have for a combination card and board game set in a futuristic world where mankind has had to leave earth for stations throughout the solar system and develop a new sport to suit the low G environment.

Players would play the part of head coaches who select one of several pre made franchises and draft, recruit, and trade players and play games against each other. The game will include offensive and defensive play cards which would modify game outcomes beyond player statistics and retirement and injuries would be a factor so players would have to maintain their rosters. There may even be rules and options for multiple gaming sessions so players could continue playing after a season is complete.

This will have to take a back seat to my other project which has many more solidified ideas, lore, and mechanics.

May need to change the name

FASA published a futuristic sports game by this name in the 80s:

Oh, Wow

Wow, okay, for sure I will have to change the name, but this game is more about managing your team than playing individual detailed games.

Yup

Yes, your game sounds quite different (and fun). And the name may be up for grabs. Didn't FASA go out of business?
