Here are my proposed reward tiers for kickstarter. I'm still needing some rewards for between $100 and $1000. Some feedback would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to know more about the game you can check out www.facebook.com/shatteredempires or check out the print and play version yourself at https://www.dropbox.com/sh/rrbiv0e1t2tgv12/2W45KSmYmu

$1000 In addition to the $100 Tier rewards, you will also be able to work with the design team to create one of the cards that will be included in the final version of the game. This card will be woven into the storyline of the Shattered Empires universe and will feature custom art from one of our artists. You will be involved in the creation process from start to finish. You will receive a signed copy of the art from your card, in addition to 50 copies of your card ( signed or unsigned ) and will be forever known as a founder of the universe. ( Limit 50 )

$5000 Same as the $2500 only instead of learning how to play via Skype, he will travel out to see you in person and teach you and your friends how to play.
Each of the Faction Starter Decks will come with box art exclusive to the Kickstarter Campaign. At the $100+ funding levels, those starter boxes will be signed by either the game creator or by the artists of your choice from those involved in that Faction’s creation. ( For artist signatures, please allow an extra two weeks for delivery and additional shipping depending on the number of items being signed. )
Each of the reward tiers from $10+ will also include a high res digital copy of art. The selection choice increases based on the tier.
Each of the $250+ tiers will include a digital art book with all the art from the game.
Some people have mentioned that I do custom sleeves, deck protectors and playmats. I am wondering where good places to get those made would be.
I'm just wondering how well the prize where the contributor gets to help design cards will work out. You might want to get a second opinion on this, but it might be a little better if you outlines specifics (like they get to pick the name of the card, artwork, and special abilities). I just feel like leaving it vague might potentially open a can of worms later, since the contributors idea of level of involvement in the design might differ from your own. Just something to think about.
You have an excellent point. I'll have to better quantify what the person gets to do in terms of choices for the card. Mostly it's designing what the card is, the story behind it, the type of card, whether personnel, ship, base, command or research. Specific mechanics to bring it in line with the game would be worked out behind the scenes.
Cool. Yeah I think if you just quantify it, you'll have no problems, since everyone will be on the same page and will know exactly what they are getting (or get to do). Otherwise it sounds really cool!
I'll reword the posting for the next time I put it up for feedback. Still trying to figure out some mid tiers between $100 and $1000
Just an idea for another prize - do you have any of your original notes from way back when the game first was conceived? Or any really old prototypes? It might be cool to take pictures of those things or scan them or whatever and put together a "The Making Of..." booklet that you could offer as a prize. It would be fun to make and I could imagine someone wanting it. You could even include your own notes explaining the early stages of the development. It might make a nice $200 or $500 price point.
Unfortunately I do not have notes from the earlier incarnations of the game. I wish I'd documented it better. I'm trying to do a lot more documentation this time around however.
