CAPTCHA Chaos!: Playtest / Rules 2.5

I stayed up til 7am stamping out words, following the parameters I had written out in another blog post. We had 14 people show up for Warmachine today but only 4 wanted to stay. That means I had to join in as a 5th player to see if the game could hold 3-5 players. I added more letters and jumped in. We played 1 round with Rules 2.0. They didn't fly too well. I asked for opinions and took note of them. We promptly played with the new rules set. Playing 3 rounds, the scores were 20, 18, 16, 16, 15.

During the rounds of playtesting we came up with the following:

• The letter count is fine for 5 players.
• Go back to original count for 4 players.
• Each player chooses CAPTCHA sticks at random: 1 easy, 1 medium, 1 hard, and 1 difficulty of their choosing.
• Finishing all your words gives you +1 point and ends the round.
• (OPTIONAL: Add Timer) If time runs out, the round ends and no one receives the additional point.
• Scoring is: 1pt Easy, 3pts Medium, 5pts Hard.
• When a round ends, everyone draws CAPTCHA sticks of the difficulty of their choosing, until they have 4.
• Players MAY return sticks to the box which were not completed in the previous round and obtain new one. This new CAPTCHA stick can be of any difficulty.
• If a player has a word partially completed at the end of the round, he may opted to keep the CAPTCHA stick and any tiles gathered for it. He must work on that word first, at the beginning of the next round.

I don't have a video this time. I'm going to bring this to my gaming group on Saturday and hopefully get some more insight and video. One of the playtesters already wants a copy! The problem is, I can't even get Print and Play prototypes out there for people to try. This is a game build on nothing BUT components! No board, no cards, no figures, no paper! I really don't want to go to the Long Beach gaming club and pay $5 just to coax people into playing.
