First Blog Entry - actual status of game designs/prototyping

HI,

this is my new blog about my game ideas and the actual status of these ideas.

In the last years I have made a view prototypes, which are not complete:

- a Bomberman like game (2018)
- a big game with 3 different races any player could control, base building and allot going on (2016)

complete and playtested prototype:

- a arena combat game, using painting for movement and action programming, project: "Mage Wars Arena" (2017, still in progress)

actual working on:
- a game using double sided memory cards, for building magic trinkets (2019)
- a tower defense game, in which each player defends his planet against cosmic encounters (2020)
- a real time burgle game in which the player tries to steal from the other player or the buildings in the game (2018)

A lot of Projects!

Wow keep going!

Will you show off some of your projects?
Very interested in seeing your Arena painting game and your tower defense game.

Had some same Ideas long time ago^^
Thought of an "painting for moving mechanic for an dungeon crawler...

Also Like the Idea of an Bomberman Game!

Hi,

I like the "painting and moving mechanism" quite much, because it is not much used and makes room for new idea. I was inspired by the game “loony quest”, I thought that it is a nice idea but there is missing something..

I am not sure how to add a picture in this reply but i will add a picture in a extra Blog Entry.

Technical issues

To add an image to any comment, you must click "Input Format" and choose "Markdown". From there you can add actual HTML: < img src=" ... " width="450px" >< /img >

The only problem is that you need to have a website to HOST the image. An example for myself:

< img src="https://www.questccg.com/img_misc/0008 - Sample Warlord.png" width="400px" >< /img >

You only have 10 MB of HOSTING image space on BGDF.com. So it would be best if you locate another host for your images.

Actual version:

This is a picture from my own gallery... Hosted on my own domain (questccg.com). That's the only way I'm afraid. Users don't have much space on BGDF.com to host all their previews. But you can attach an image to the Original Post (Top Thread Message) via a dropdown.

Otherwise you are stuck with this HTML syntax to do inline images. Sorry that's the best that I can offer. Cheers!

Note #1: You do have 10 mb ... So you can probably host about a dozen (12) files or so.

Here is the LINK for wowikon's game preview:

< img src="https://www.bgdf.com/sites/default/files/images/Plague-Rats-Ver-5-Tableau.preview.jpg" width="450px" >< /img>

Actual:

You can add an ANCHOR if you like such as this:

< a href="https://www.bgdf.com/sites/default/files/images/Plague-Rats-Ver-5-Tableau.preview.jpg" target="_blank" >< img src="https://www.bgdf.com/sites/default/files/images/Plague-Rats-Ver-5-Tableau.preview.jpg" width="450px" >< /img >< /a >

Actual:

It's a bit TECHNICAL but for most people it is acceptable once you learn HOW to do it. Regards.

Note #2: Let me apologize for "polluting" your thread. I figured you might want to know HOW to embed images in comments such that you can freely LINK to a website with unlimited disk space. If you have any questions, feel free to "Private Message" me (PM)...

Thank you for the detailed

Thank you for the detailed advice :)

I will try that out, also I am not sure what´s the best method but I will do some testing :)

These games all sound

These games all sound interesting to me! And, no offense to everyone else here, that doesn't happen all that often :)

Thanks a lot, actual I am working more on my main prototypes and ideas but it is hard not to get distracted and start something new before the first thing is even close to be finished.

Or just put all away and go back to home automation or other hobbys which just need a bit more time and love ;)
