Opening Thoughts

I recently stumbled on BGDF through BGG, and I'm hoping that it will serve as a good sounding board, reference, and general support network for my endeavors in game design.

From what I've perused on the site already, there appears to be an established community, and that's exciting, as my current town of residence appears to have a fairly limited gaming community. Unless I wanted to spend my days playing Yu-Gi-Oh! or Warlord CCGs, that is... :)

At any point in time, I have between 2 and 5 games in development. Ideas come and go, and I'll tinker with a game idea for a while before setting it aside and working on something new. Eventually, most of the older ideas are either further developed, or cannibalized to feed new concepts. I'm hoping the BGDF will be helpful in bringing some of these ideas to a satisfying level of polish, such that I can add them to my portfolio of finished work.

Well, that about sums it up for me. I mostly just wanted to get my thoughts out there and hopefully take a good first step into a larger world (to borrow from Ben Kenobi).

Welcome

Welcome to the BGDF!

Welcome!

To get you in the habit of finishing those games, I'd recommend committing to entry in the Game Design Showdown. There's a forum about it that explains the whole thing, but ignore the references to wiki formatting, since that was written for the old v2 site.
