Publisher PODs for creating cards and books

Hey Everyone,

Its Ken Whitman. Sorry I have been gone for a while, but now I am back to the industry. I now work for a marketing and sales company out of Elizabethtown Kentucky called Erikesn Services, LLC. We are focusing on a new concept called publishers PODS. As technology for Print on Demand keep’s evolving the prices keep dropping. And now you can start your own POD starting at $400 a month plus ink cost. If this sounds interesting keep reading.
Thanx,
Ken Whitman

Interesting.

Got a website?

ok found it...

found your website from your email address, but it seriously sounds like your company does a mess of stuff for a mess of people, and I can find no information regarding your POD system on the site. Care to elaborate?

POD printing

So this is a "lease to buy" program?

What's the effective interest rate you're charging?

Who runs the equipment?

Where does the equipment go?

What specific equipment is included in each package?

For example - in the Card POD, does it include some kind of diecutter to cut the round edge cards?

What is a "click"?

Who does the file prep for the POD? What programs work with the equipment?

Paper is not included in the price - correct?

Interesting idea, but still a few questions I'm sure we'd like to have answered?

Do you have a detailed brochure or webpage - the one listed does not have the POD service in there, as far as I can see.

Pay close attention to the

Pay close attention to the click rate offered. That is how much the company charges you, on their service plan (which should include all your toner supplies and consumables for the machine and service on the machine when it is needed), for each black and white and color impression made.

Just for comparison, those click rates are approximately double what we pay with Xerox presently. And on higher end machines through a couple other service providers there seems a lot of opportunity to get our own click rates down a fir bit.

Hmmm... zero follow-up. Not a good sign.

Oh well, gotta find someplace else to get a PoD setup! :)

If anyone is seriously

If anyone is seriously interested, check out your local sales office for either Xerox, Konica-Minalta or possibly Ricoh.
