Seeking Feedback on Card Design

My two-player hero battling card game has made some serious strides, with each new change being more incremental than the last. That's a good sign!

New iterations have demanded revamped card designs, and the ones attached are my most recent versions. I rotated hero cards to give them a different feel from minions. If this makes them feel less epic/unique, I'm open to changing it.

My biggest change here is straying further away from how Magic: the Gathering template cards, which is essentially a bunch of text in a box, with each ability separated by a line without text. That seems pretty obtuse to me, so I decided to define the various types of hero/minion abilities and then section them off from each other. I think it makes it easier to see from a glance what it does and each ability on a card looks like a button now, which gives a feeling of activation. How players FEEL when using cards is hugely important to me.

The attack card is probably the one design I'm struggling with the most. You have a few different attack cards (well, actually action cards, but that distinction isn't important to this discussion) that do different things, which makes it harder to unify them in feel while also distinguishing them from the minions and heroes.

Let me know what you think!

You could make the action

You could make the action cards half-sized. It looks like you need less space on them.

Will the white areas be replaced by color at any point?
Also, I would avoid using gradients, they can cause printing issues and I know that a lot of people, at least in the design industry, strongly dislike them. I like the layout of your cards and the way you display the information, though. I'd say it's a strong foundation. Also, be sure that the font your using is a "free to use" font.

Thanks for taking a look!

Thanks for taking a look! Yes, the white will be filled in at some point, either by a pattern or color. That's still something I'm fiddling around with. Good to know about gradients – that's probably my peak Photoshop skill, so I'd ideally replace it when I hire an actual graphic designer. For now it's the best I can muster.

Card Design

Your hero card is formatted exactly how I have mine so I am biased when I say I like it. My only concern about the vile scourge card is that with the HP and DOM in the middle like that it creates a lot of dead space. Maybe you can move the skull symbol into the right hand side of that gap?

Nothing like some

Nothing like some confirmation bias :)

Special minions have stars to the right and left of the white space, but most of them are empty like Vile Scourge. I'll think of ways to constructively fill that space.

I do really like having HP and DOM smack in the middle of the card. I never understood why many card games put those types of stats on the bottom. Magic's attack/toughness stats are not easy to see, and Hearthstone splitting those stats to the corners is weird to me as well.

I like the two stats in the

I like the two stats in the middle. There is some dead space on either side, but it's not displeasing to look at.
