First Person Shooter

Off and on I've been working on a board game designed to capture the feel of a First Person Shooter. I decided early on that it needed to feel fast paced and real time even if it wasn't and I didn't want to just have players roll dice to see if they hit because that to me doesn't feel like a FPS.

Lay it on the line!

Unikato, the Dr. Wood edition.

Thanks to Dr. Wood, Unikato is now also available in Australia and India.

I make fun...

Hello, my name is Nathan Hansen and I make fun for a living. I’m a Game Designer, Artist and Programmer living in Southern California. I have a passion for board and card games and as such most of my design work is in that area, but I also work as a programmer from time to time on a freelance basis.

Deadline - Tell me what you think

Then my second game is ready for test. I think I've found a way to make it work, but please help me if this sound wrong. The game is a card game. You only need the two decks that came with the game. One action deck and one info deck. The game rules are easy. The first player that gets 7 cards of the same info group wins. With a max hand of 10 that can be a little hard. Every round a player can do one of 3 things. Take an info card, take an action card or use an action card. I have created over 50 different action cards and 60 different info cards.

Hunters

I finished my first game this weekend. It's cold Hunters. It's a 1-4 player game. The game has a random map, build with squares. The map will use different amount of bricks depending on have many players that will enter the game. Every player will get 4 animals they will need to hunt. Every animal will come out depending on what part of the day you hunt. Yes the game will go in a loop of morning, day, afternoon and night. The first player who gets all 4 animals back to the hut wins. You will need recourses, action card and different equipment to take down one animal.

First Day on the Site

After creating a list of life goals, the one I am most fervent about fulfilling is to create a game design company. This can include video and board and card games.
I currently attend a community college and am working on my first web design certificate. It is a 'back-door' into programming that I feel necessary. I do not know a programming language fluently yet, but my fervor for game design keeps me learning things that may slowly lead to a goal fulfillment.

Game Design

Could anyone possibly tell me where I might find someone to design games for my website? I'm only interested in the classic games like: Hearts, Spades, Poker (4 variations), Chess, Checkers, Rummy, Whist, Pinochle, Black jack, Dominoes, and Solitaire (4 variations).

It says in the Bible

Just a quick note: My old game Depth Charge has been included in the Games Bible published by Workman Publishing.

It says “plus newer favorites—Japanese Snow-Ball Fight, Six-Word Memoir, Iron Chef—and, from contributors like Will Shortz and 14 other game experts.”

I guess im an expert now   Well at least that is the spin.

2 New Games

Hi.
This is my first blog her at BGDF. At this point I have 2 different games that might be ready for Alpha test in a week or two. The first game is a hunter board game cold hunters. It's a 2-4 player game. The other is a game cold Deadline. That's a 2 player card game. Not a ccg. I will need someone to test the games when they are ready. And someone that can help with the graphics. If you think you can help me in any way, please take contact.

Arkopolis Engines - Join the Crew

Hi fellow BGDFers. For those of you who were following our massive blog posts a while ago will know that Clever Mojo and myself are working on steampunk board game called Arkopolis Engines. Players take the role of the crew of great steam-powered "Engines" scavenging ruined cities for equipment, resources and ancient artifacts.

We need crewmen for the Engines and, as a way of saying thank you for the support we have received, we want to give you guys the opportunity to help out by creating crewmen for the prototype and possibly for the final product.
