The Game Crafter's blog

Ever since we launched The Game Crafter, people have been asking (some pleading, and others demanding) that we offer an urgent production queue. Sometimes it’s for a last minute birthday / wedding / christmas present. Other times it’s for a class project. And other times they’ve made some last minute changes before going to a game convention. Whatever the case we’re pleased to announce that we are offering an urgent queue.

In the beginning you either found a publisher or took the super risky route of self-publishing. Then crowd funding came along and mitigated much of the risk of self-publishing, but introduced a whole slew of it’s own risks. We felt there had to be a better way, so we created crowd sales.

The Game Crafter is bringing Protospiel back to Madison again this year with Protospiel Madison 2015! Last year we had over 80 attendees, and this year we’re expecting even more. If you are a game designer and you want honest feedback from other game designers, this is the event for you to attend! Save the date: October 23-25, 2015.

As we rapidly approach the end of 2014 we like to do a bit of year in review of how our community has grown and what accomplishments we’ve all achieved. Our judge, Mark Major, will receive the games shortly and begin playing them. He will then narrow the list of finalists down to just 1 winner. While we wait for that, you can read all the detailed scores of the semifinalists.
