A Crafter's Retrospective - 2012 - Year in Review for The Game Crafter

Founders of The Game Crafter with Cog the Robot

2012 has been The Game Crafter’s best year yet, but I will not miss it. Why? Because 2013 is going to be even more spectacular! But in order to put that into perspective, let’s take a look at everything that happened in 2012.

We moved to our new facility, upgraded our printer, and implemented even more robots, which all reduced drift, decreased production time, and increased overall quality. We even brought a robot to Gen Con.

Lord of the Rings Pewter Game Pawns

Lord of the Rings Pewter Game Pawns - Available at The Game Crafter

While working with our vintage vendors we came across one of them who had a small stash of Lord of the Rings pewter pawns. We’ve added them to our vintage game parts catalog. They are very expensive at $4.00 each, but we thought some of you would want them anyway for the deluxe versions of your games that you make for yourself.

The RPG Challenge is on!

The Game Crafter is pleased to announce the RPG Challenge! We want you to design a role-playing game in the form of a board or card game. It doesn't matter whether you build a dungeon crawler like Descent, or more of a story telling game like Betrayal at House on the Hill, or a funny little card game like Munchkin; all that matters is that it takes the form of a role-playing game. It also doesn't matter whether your game requires a game master, or if the adventure is random, or if there are predefined adventures.

Hex and Square Cards

Hex Card Template

The Game Crafter is pleased to announce that we've just added two new printable components to our lineup: Hex Cards and Square Cards. While many people may end up using these more as mats than cards (they work great for map building games), they are designed to be cards. They have rounded corners, and you can build these out in decks just like you do with Poker Cards. Plus you have the same import tools, and randomization tools you do with Poker Decks. They are also sized nicely for shuffling and to hold in your hand.
