WIP Guess what it is...?

Workinprogress.png

So I am trying to get my painting skills better, and decided it would be fun to practice by working on an old title of mine. Can anyone guess what this work in progress is suppose to be?

Also I always love pointers on how I could get better, so feedback is welcome.

Perfect Map tiles, unexpected materials.

So I am trying to make a very professional prototype for the parts of downfall I know that aren't going to change. So looking to make the tiles I went on my epic quest in search of chipboard, alas whomever I inquired concerning said chipboard simple raised an eyebrow and tried to look like they knew what I was talking about.

"Um sorry," said the disheveled Staples worker, "I don't think we have any C-H-I-T board? We do have some corkboard for posting notes to though..."

"Corkboard, really, corkboard!" I exclaimed in horror, " I don't need no stinking corkboard."

Downfall: Grevling

Well after painting the Horg I felt I learned a lot and tried to do another unit, namely a Grevling. Well it was a success; however it looks too good when compared with the Horg so I am going to have to go back and repaint the Horg with all the new skills I learned.

Here is a reduced sample of the Grevling. Any feedback is welcome.

Painting. What do you think?

Updated Version

So my tile laying RPG is coming along great, but slowly... I have finished the artwork for one unit, it is called a "Horg" and I am seeking feedback and critism in order to make it better. I am going to have the units be simple paper fold outs because A) I don't want to make actual models and B) I actually like paper fold outs, I think it is a game design not used enough now a days.

So any feedback is welcome :)

DownFall: Concept Artwork

Grevlin Sketch

Look ma, it is a Grevlin...

Need to fix the collar around his neck, but all in all 90% satisfied with this sketch. I will color it over the next week or so; and if I like it will actually make it into paper fold up pieces for my game.

Comments are welcome.

Ohh, by the way the image is hard to see. It is off to the right, just click on it to zoom up.

Downfall: Crystal Souls

Grevlin Vulture

So I love board games because they give you the opportunity to sit around with friends and have real human interaction; whereas, video games are equivalence to texting. There is absolutely no human interaction, you can say and do what every you want with very little consequence or social awkwardness.

So looking for a board game with real depth I have ruefully found that most big and epic board games are full of filth. (Filth is defined as women fighting through dungeons wearing nigh to nothing.
