Guys...

Here is some stuff in development...

The Game Design Wiki:
http://www.bgdf.com/modules/wiki/index.php

Designers Database:
http://www.bgdf.com/modules.php?name=designerdb

Let me know what you think..

Calendar

Obviously I added a calendar of events so people will know when chats take place and we don't have to continiously publish it as a news event. The main page is looking rather cluttered. Do you guys have any ideas on how to correct it without sacrificing easy access to information?

Can either of you guys figure out how to make the wiki a module? I can use the Nukewrap module I installed to 'fudge it', but it sure would be nice to make it an 'official' module, possibly even releasing it into the PHPNuke community as such (this might require saving the wiki preferences automatically to the PHPNuke user name, it appears it's a cookie...). Ahh forgot the link:
http://www.bgdf.com/modules.php?name=NukeWrap&page=modules/wiki/index.php

Tell me what you guys think.

I like the calender but it's not useful enough to be at the top, yet if it's too low it lose its purpose. How about right top just below the UserLogin blocks ?

While we're talking about blocks and modules. How do you edit the Main Menu block? (I did it a while ago, but it seems to be different) the bgdf_menu file in the blocks folder seems to be it but it's not ! 8O

As for the Wiki, I have no idea.

I suspect that turning the Wiki into a module would be a really big deal. Looking at the way modules are put together I think you'd need to rewrite a lot of code. I suggest the wrapper.

On the DesignerDB, personally I think it's way too minimal, but I know that the guy who wrote it (The_Ender?) intended it that way. I don't know that it's all that useful in its current form. If there was a place where you specified, say, the types of games you design, if you're looking for playtesters, if you're publisheed maybe, that kind of thing then it would be much more useful. If I know there's another guy in Phoenix who's designing games it would suck for both him and I if I contacted him and found out that he was (a) only into CCGs and (b) wasn't remotely interested in being involved in playtests. There's not point in contacting him, and I'd just piss-off both me and the mule (as they say).

Hmmm... The wrapper idea for the wiki is semi ok but it gives you errors when you try and preview a change for some reason...

As for the DesignerDB, the comments field is where you're supposed to throw in everything else that you want to say. Perhaps we should make that clear on the page.. Hmmm, I just checked and the comments field isn't even enabled.. That's no good... I'll look into it.

Oh and to clarify. Oracle coded the module. but it was originally Marios idea.

I'm going to play around with the wiki as a module idea...If it blinks in and out for the next few days don't be alarmed..

Nukewrap + Wiki

Weird.. Now I don't get any error with previewing under Nukewrap. I'll have to check it out again. I still want to semi-integrate it into Nuke... At the least I want the wiki uneditable by anonymous users and also I'd like the preferences to use the phpnuke username as the wiki username.

That sounds pretty doable, I suspect.
