Begginer needs help finding game box producer

Hi all.
I am interested in finding a board game manufacturer that can create a box that is 10 X 10 X 1.5. They also need to be able to do graphics as well from a .html file or .jpeg. Can anyone recommend a manufacturer that they know is reputable and has good prices?
Thanks<

Hmmm I would be worried about using an html file or jpeg for actual box graphics. Most printers will require 300dpi TIFF format.

As for 10 x 10 x 1.5, is the 10 x 10 in order to support a 10in quad folded game board? You might need to have a little extra room to make sure the quad 10in folded board fits.

Also what qty are you looking to print? 10, 100, 1000, 10000..., ?

The quantities would be small at first, anywhere from 100-1000, increasing as sales increase. The box is actually going to contain a few smaller games. It is an "all-inclusive" type bundle.

We can certainly get the graphics in a .tiff format. I have a graphic designer who is quite familiar with that format.

We recently got a quote of 6K for the production of 1000 boxes. That, me to, seems overly expensive. That's the reason why I looked up your group, to find out more information. I was thinking that we could get it done for no more than .50/ea, really about .27/ea. Does that sound feasible, or am I way off?

Sadly for 1000, 6k might be close,6k might be a little high. I am not sure where you went for the quote but you might try contacting some of the places listed in the web resource area.

A had a quote recently from www.boardgamedesign.com which was pretty decent, but again cost varies. You might check them out.

While the expression, "I'm looking to get a box made" seems simple enough, there can be enormous variations in cost based on the type of box chosen, its outside dimensions, the weight of the cardboard (or plastic) it's made of, and the nature of the color wrap to be put around it.

Most cardboard game boxes take the form of an "X" box or a "Pop-up" box. X-boxes are your classic separate top and bottom pieces (if you break the sides apart and lay it out flat, the top and bottom parts look like "X's" - hence the name. Pop-up boxes are one piece items that can be stored flat, you squeeze in the sides and tuck in the side flaps and it assumes its 3-D shape. I suspect in either case that on a run of just 1,000 with a color wrap, you'll be hard pressed to keep the cost below $2.00 a box.

Plastic boxes should not be overlooked as a possiblity. Placon placon.com makes a nice generic plastic box series called "ThisBox" that comes in your size (search for model TX 8901 ZZ). These seem to run around .75 cents each if you buy them by the caseload - warning: the cost of plastic is heavily influenced by the price of oil.

The deluxe edition of the Against the Odds Magazine games comes in a plastic box as well which works very well. You can see a picture of it here http://www.atomagazine.com/boxes.htm on my site.
