Discrepency

Usually when I log on, one of the first things I do is see who else is logged on. I either look at the Messenger list towards the bottom left hand corner or the Who Is Online info at the very bottom of the page. I've noticed lately that the lists don't necessarily coincide all the time. Am I not understanding what the two list represent or is there a reason why they're different? Just curious.

The "Who is Online" at the bottom of the main page of the forums just lists those who have visited the actual forums themselves in the last x minutes. The Messenger list includes anyone who is on any page of the site, be it the journals, the downloads, the links, the main page, or what have you.

I, for example, tend to just display the main page and refresh it from time to time. If there's a new message listed on the right then I enter the forums.

So the discrepency, while odd, actually has a logical reason behind it.

Thanks for the clarification. Makes sense.
