Hi, All.

I'm really impressed with the site... looking forward to participating in some of the discussions and other options here.

My name is Jim and I've been making games since 6th grade when my best friend and I designed a 'D&D' knock-off of our own... he did the art, I did the rules... I'd pay a $1000.00 to have copies of that stuff we did, just for nostalgia sake :)

I've got quite a few prototype games I've designed, but up to now I've not been very serious about doing this for real... this site has so much to read, so any suggestions on where to start will be appreciated.

Take care,

Jim

I thought it to be a good idea to introduce myself as well. My name is Aerjen and I've been designing games on and of for the pas 15 years now. I'm 23, so my 'early works' are probably a bit rough :P Since a month or 5 now, I've seriously taken up designing, prototyping and playtesting and what fun it is :D

To Jim: What I did is mark all posts as read and then read the new ones. This is an easy way to catch up and not get drowned in all the information. Of course if you want some specific information you can always search for it.

Welcome to both of you!

Aerjen, that's a Dutch name, isn't it? Do you also happen to come from the Netherlands then?

Welcome

Welcome the both of you to our humble little site.

Jim yes it can be overwhelming and I would take Aerjan's advice about just reading the new posts. If you have any specific questions you can try using the search function to read previous posts.

Again welcome. Please let any of the moderators or regular users know if we can help out with the site or even game specifics for that matter. For the most part, we are all a friendly bunch and love helping whenever possible.

Again, welcome!

Thanks for the welcome, I think I'll be talking to the people here on a regular basis.

@Zaiga, yes I'm from the Netherlands. I live in the north of Amstelveen, which is on the border of the south of Amsterdam. And you, where are you from?

Thanks for the responses.

I appreciate all the responses...

I travel a bit, but will try and stay up with current discussions and such... any suggestions on how to get involved on the site? Can someone explain briefly how the contests and game design projects work?

Thanks!

Jim
