Ok this is a little late, but I figured it might be a good idea.

So if you are interested, please post one or two game design related goals you wish to accomplish for 2006!

Think of this as one additional way to motivate yourself to accomplish more this year with respect to game design. I will do my best to ask for quarterly updates in hopes to keep us all working hard!

1) *Finish* Tuatha De Danaan (current in development game)
2) Submit the above game to at least 1 publisher
3) *Finish* BGDF wiki site.
4) Create and submit another game to Hippodice

Thanks,

New Year Game Designers Resolutions?

This is a great idea; I managed to complete a few goals from last year:

1) Submit a game to Hippodice
Die Wichtelmanner submitted, and on to second round.
2) Submit a game to publishers
Gene Pool has been looked at by Out of the Box, and is now under review at Z-man.
3) Return to Protospiel.
Check.
4) Play more games
Now have weekly group, own over 100 games.

So here's my new list for 2006, it's similar to last year, thought it would be good to stick with what works:

1) Finally wrapup and submit two games to Hippodice, Schism and Antiquity Trade.
2) Get Gene Pool published, either through self-funded small print run or a real board game company.
3) Submit Die Wichtelmanner to a foreign company, like Amigo or DaVinci
4) Return to Protospiel.
5) Attend a convention, like Gen Con or Origins
6) Come up with 4 new viable designs, one of which uses a board, one of which is based on the 6 nimmt! deck.

I'm rooting for you on the Wiki, Zzzzz! Good luck to everyone on their resolutions.

New Year Game Designers Resolutions?

My new years resolutions - and I had some this time, I didn't make them up just for this thread! - are as follows:

1) See All For One published.
2) Finish and submit Terra Prime to contests (maybe Hippdice) and/or a publisher.
3) Get Hot and Fresh to some kind of playable state and have at least 1 playtest of it.
4) Get to KublaCon and playtest a game (or games) of my design.
5) Get to BGG.con and playtest a game (or games) of my design.
6) Get at least 1 more game to prototype stage.

I don't know how ambitius these goals are, but that's what I'd like to see happen this year.

New Year Game Designers Resolutions?

I am not one for "resolutions", but goals are good. I will start with three simple goals. I guess I really should include finding time as a goal, but that is nothing new.

1] Getting more involved in this forum is one. This is a wonderfully creative spot for me an I enjoy reading everyone's projects and thoughts.

2] I want to have an entry in each monthly design challenge. One day I will win, but for now...meeting the deadline is acomplishment enough.

3] I will have many playtesting sessions for my first boardgame (working title "the outfit") and decide how far I want to take it.

Best of luck to everyone on their goals.
