i've got to tell you.. it's sort of freaky to google your net-name assuming you have one...

i've been using "nazhuret" for quite some time now as well as "alita99" and variations... "nazuretpdx" alitapdx" for the most part for alternates....

it's just strange to google your name and come up with the FOURTH result being your own articles.... and if its a different name than the one you use now (or even the same) to see posts and articles by you from what is (in web terms) eons ago... like back in 1994....

and they're high on the google list too...
it's just strange... it's like... who the hell was that person? when i was typing i sure didn't think it would last... i was just a kid then....

and there it still is.. for any schmoe to stumble across it as if i had something important to say...

maybe i'm just over reacting...i don't know...

Name Googling

I've done the same thing and your right. It is kind of freaky. Like we'll always live on in cyberspace.

Posts in 1994? Wasn't the internet kind of in its infancy back then? There has been soooo many advances in tech. I just can't imagine that we used to work of 18.8 dial up connections :(

Interestingly, when I do a little vanity surfing it turns out that I share my name with a venerable Disney animator. Pretty cool. It also turns out that I have never done anything noteworthy enough to show up on google otherwise. Fairly sad, but what can you do?

Which begs the question...

When you Google your name, which is worse... getting a large set of responses, or none at all?

For me a large set of responses would definitely be worse. I tend to be fairly direct, fairly opinionated, and don't edit my own work well. Bad combination for everything you type being entered onto your permanent Google record.
