I E Spell

I sometimes spell something wrong on accident, but the bigger words give me problems (like I was just trying to spell competition and couldn't remember how to spell it)

Luckily there's a tool that can help with this:

iespell.com

Some of you may have heard of this or use it, but basically it allows you to check your spelling on internet explorer (don't know about netscape or the others) by right clicking and then hitting "check spelling."

The license to use it is free, unless you're using it for a commercial purpose (although they don't check on you.)

Hope this helps!

Nice find, Svan! 8)

It's not just spelling that gets me... sometimes I want to make sure that five-cent word means what I think it means. So allow me to also recommend the Merriam-Webster toolbar, also free.

It also helps for pronounciation (with audio samples in most entries - Latin pronounciations for "in media res" and "deus ex machina" would otherwise make me sound like a fool), pluralizations (the plural of "crisis" is "crises"), and spelling. Finally, it includes a lookup to their thesaurus.

It didn't set off my Spyware alarm, so I don't believe it is Spyware.

I E Spell

Just installed the webster toolbar. Now I have 4 toolbars up, set up in a way that it only looks like I have 2 toolbars. The toolbars I recommend are:

Google (Everyone probably uses this)
Dogpile (For white/yellow pages, the best i've found and their ticker--I've got several game sites uploaded on my ticker)
mywebsearch(for the smileys and the ability to use their buttons on the toolbar for your favorites, especially if you share the computer with someone else, it allows you to set up buttons for each person)

If you're a sports fan, the espn bar that goes at the bottom of your screen is handy too. :D
