Egyptian board games...

Anyone here play/know any good Egyptian board games? I was thinking of taking a look a Wadjet, but I heard that you have to do a lot of note taking while playing it... Senat/Senet looks pretty cool, but it also looks kinda confusing...

Little help?

Not sure if this will help with what you are looking for, but I came across it and it seems interesting:

At the very least it might give you some further search ideas.

Here are some games with Egyptian themes (click the name to open a new window with more information from the BoardGameGeek, including pictures, descriptions, and reviews):

Amun-Re: This is my favorite game with an Egyptian theme. It's a bit complex for folks who don't play games at all, but it's still a great game that only takes about 90 minutes to play. Highly recommended.

Ra: A fun auction game with an Egyptian theme. Also recommended.

Cairo: A "flicking" game where manual dexterity is important. I've heard it's fun but haven't played it.

Cheops

Caesar and Cleopatra

Luxor

Tutanchamun

Isis & Osiris

Tal der Könige

Scarab Lords

I'm sure there are many more, but these are the ones that came to mind. All should be available either in online game stores (like Funagain) or via ebay or the BoardGameGeek marketplace, and the newer ones (like Amun-Re) should be available at your local game store.

Hope that helps.

While one of the prettiest games ever made, Wadjet is one of the most broken games ever made. In fact, I'm sure noone bothered to play test the rules as written. It's been quite a while since we tried to play it, but IIRC it's a lot like Clue(do). However, imagine a game of Clue(do) where once you figure out the murder, you have to go into the room where the murder took place, HOWEVER, other players can sit on the doors to that room, blocking your enterance. That's pretty much what happened in the game we played.

RA is a nifty auction game.

Caesar and Cleopatra is a relatively fun "gain control of various characters" game.

And I'm a big fan of Tal der Konige. Probably the most impressive box of bits I've seen, including a triangular box and board, 3-d pyramid building, and seemingly a lot more bluffing than should be allowed. I highly recommend it if you can find a copy.
