When are the results posted?

The competition page states that resuts will be posted on September 1st. This date has now passed with no sign of the final results, so I wonder if anyone knows when we can expect them to come?

I can well understand that the process could take longer than expected, but some sort of announcement about this would have been nice.

Well, our deadline was extended with two weeks, so I can certainly understand if the results also come two weeks later... ;)

Then again, I'm waiting for the results before showing the game to publishers, so some sign about when the results will be announced would be nice.

Unless the games are being judged faster than XXOCC is sending out reports, I would say that at the rate things are currently going, the judging will probably not be done until well after the next contest begins!

This is not a dig at the judges; I commend them for being as thorough as XXOCC obviously is. It seems, though, that this process takes a long time, and there were a LOT of entries. Yet, other game competitions are able to generate winners in a reasonable length of time. My guess is that they have more judges available for evaluation.

No clue. Either way, I imagine some are getting antsy (I'm not, since I didn't enter!), but I encourage the judges to take as much time as they need, even if it stretches way out. It's too late to change the format of this competition, and I think it's the most fair if every entry gets lots of time and attention, and not just the early ones...

Ooops

Yes the deadline for the judges was extended by two weeks. However, I will e-mail XXOOCC and see what the status currently is.

He did extend, he did e-mail me, and your indignation is hereby noticed and humbly apologized for...

We should be at the point of having but one or two entries left to review... and yet we are not. At this time, only I have actually gotten the work done, and I am one game review behind the schedule I originally agreed to (3 judges were to review 6 games each... making our total of the 18 - now 17 - entries)...

I have been in touch with both Ed at Alien Menace and Wolf at Scorpion's Nest Tactical Gaming, and they are working on it... but there's not much more I can do than ask them to get on the stick, as it were. We do plan to review another entrant this week Monday... and I will continue to bang away at the list until it is done should the other judges not come through... but it WILL take longer than expected, and I apologize for these delays. Bear with me folks... I am hustling as best I can :-). And I do understand the importance of this competition to those who have submitted.

For my part, I wanted you to know that I don't feel apologies are necessary.

I understand all too well the pressures of trying to make a living, and I don't begrudge any of the volunteer judges one bit.

I would like to express my gratitude for all you have done so far, and for how thoughtful and encouraging the reviews have been.

If it helps I will be more than happy to let my game be reviewed last in line (or later) so that others might get some feedback sooner. I would be happy to wait.

Keep up the good work, and thanks again for everything XXOOCC :D

What is the current status?

There has been no sign of life for almost two months now. I understand that evaluations can take a long time (I know that I have been guilty of it several times), but some indication that it hasn't been totally forgotten would be nice.

I would like to drop my submission for this contest. The game has changed a lot since I entered it and any feedback would not be very useful anymore. I'm now on the verge of starting to look for a publisher for this game anyway. Also this makes it one game less to review for Chris.
