HI

This thread has been created after some discussion made in another thread so I am resending the information.

Once in a while, Me and my farther look at a movie called "Abot and Castello VS frankenstein". It stared almost all of the horror characters of the 60ies balck and white movies :

Dracula, Frankenstein, Werefolf, Invisible Man.

In another video tape we had, they made some advertisement on some old horor movies that you could buy including the monster of lockness ( looks like a lizard man). They were almost a dozen of them.

We tought that it could be cool to make a game using this theme. I could not think of something yet. I tough maybe you could play the the horror hunters or you could play the horror themselves. I tought that playing the bad guys would have been better.

I tought of a fighting game ( video game) in black and white where you can play each character. Or heroes adventuring on a map of a castle full of horors. Or some sort of monopoly like game where you adventure in a castle, draw event cards, and make unwanted discoveries.

Now, some people on this forum came with the idea of making a social game like in porto rico ( bad spelling I know ). Other say that they could control a castle/mansion and mange resources which are the heroes, creatures or people to actually scare. Each character would have a special ability.

I thinks The Idea of making a game of social relation is good. Still I think keeping the same role for the whole game would be the best(since in porto rico you change roles) . The idea of haunting a mansion/castle is also what I had in mind. Maybe each player's identity is hidden and they must fullfill a goal without other have a chance to know who they really are.

Or maybe make a total social game like werewolf. Most of these characters have a normal human form (OK, the lockness monster is a bit disadvantaged here), so maybe they all live in the same mansion whitout knowing who's who and they must make decision in group. Each character could have a power that influence the desicion.

Anyways, setting trap in a mansion for uninvited people sounds cools but I don't want it to become some sort of dungeon crawl game where all the horrors try to kill the highest number of peasants.

If you have any suggestion or addition, send them to this thread

Invisible man had a brief appearance, albeit a memorable one, in teh very last scene... Vincent Price did the voice!!!

Frankensteins Monster wouldnt be able to don a secret identity very well either.

I'm not a fan of the monster of lochness idea... not common or classic enough imho.

If you did wanna go a secret identity game... Werewolf and Vampire would work great and you could throw in Dr. Jeckl and Mr. Hyde.

Anyway if you came up with soem basic mechanics, I think teh theme alone could make thsi game a winner.

Creature from the Black Lagoon could be called *The Creature* (as he was in 1967's Mad Monster Party) for saftey sake, and he was called Gill-Man in the actual movie, which may also be safe.
