Is this a different job than the one you mentioned in this thread?

Not sure why I'm bothering, since you probably won't follow up with this thread. If you're not willing to follow up on your posts, we really wish you wouldn't post them in the first place. It's great that you are posting job offerings, but we have no assurance that these offers are really getting anyone a job.

I'm happy to say this post was for real, and I got the position.
I start in a few days and I am considering posting a blog here about my experiences.

That's a gloomy take, DH! A litle drilling told me it was dead serious. Like you I am thrilled for Hawk727 and look forward to his blog or journal entries.

One way to solve the problem of scatter posting from recruiters: open a Talent Needed area! It's totally logical to have it here. It'll be very quiet, then a flurry, then quiet, then more jobs... Build it, they will come.

The Forum is gaining a REP for attracting some credible design talent. Recruiters have a nose for it.

My .02¢ :-)

Again, this is something that will be added on the new site. We're way ahead of you buddy. The reason I have a gloomy attitude is because this is the first such offer that we are sure someone has gotten a job from. The second reason is because the poster had no history with the community. In this day and age of Internet scamming, one can never be too sure what is legit.

Like i said, you're gaining a rep for credibility. Keep up the great work. This place is like a candy store for me.

Especially considering their use of IM's to everyone that was online. That alone seemed like a red flag to me. I'm glad that our suspicions were proved false and that someone from this forum has a truly great opportunity as a game designer!

Best of luck to both HAWK727 and MGA Entertainment!

Actually Sisk that was a different person (I.E. this thread). As far as I know, Bombshel did not send any unsolicited IMs to people.

Thanks for the congratulations and well wishes. I am very excited about starting. I thought the idea of the blog would be not only educational for this community, but a great way for me to record my experiences. Of course I have to make sure it does not cause any conflicts for the company.
Also part of my job will now be to accept and reveiw inventor submissions, and I agree that there seems to be some very viable talent found on this forum.

Thanks,
Elder
