One of my newest projects is going to use some mechanics of this amazing and all but forgotten game...

my immediate question is, does anyone have this card game intact... and if so... would you be willing to give me the *breakdown* of the exact card list (how many of each card is in a complete game)

25 (10)
50 (10)
75 (10)
100 (12)
200 (4)

The first game I designed was inspired loosely by Mille Bornes, rather the interplay of cards and objectives.

The one thing to be careful of is the concept of lock and key cards. That is, specific hindrances that require specific solutions to them.

An example of that in Mille Bornes would be the flat tire and the spare tire cards. It can be a real pain when you are prevented from progressing while burning through the deck for that one card that will allow you to continue.

Not that Mille Bornes is a bad game, but you have a chance to innovate and improve!

I agree. It's really boring if you know the cards you need have already been played, and you simply have to wait until the other players win, without any chance to fight.

If you set a rule like "to cancel a flat tyre: either play the spare tyre or wait three turns for the service truck to arrive before you continue advancing", you solve that sort of problem. I think SiskNY rised an important issue here.

SiskNY, seo,

No worries... there are some automatic *remedys* for *hinderances*... but all hinderances can be overcome by sacrafice (discarding) or BATTLE!!

Now we're talkin!

A recent game called Saboteur has an element from Milles Borne in it- you can break someones lantern or pickaxe and they can't dig anymore until they repair it...

The difference is due to the author of the page being an awfull matematician: 6+6+6+6+14=38, not 28. He lists the same amount of REMEDY cards, but fails adding the quantities.

I didn't read the rest of thi page (I'm too lazy) but I read the one Gogolski linked, and it had no discrepancies with my spanish langage version (except that mine has no socre cards nor refference cards).
