Hi there,

after completing the second draft of the manual for one of my games in illustrator, I went here to search the database. "For what?" you say. Well, for a design tool which would make nice vector based patterns. And of which every object can be singled out and manipulated further. "To what end?" you cry. To prevent myself from getting RSI by trying to make my flattened hexagons in illustrator arranged in the way I like best. It's just too bad, that I couldn't find a tool for it in the database, so is ther anyone out there, which knows of one? Preferably a freeware tool.

This may help you (maybe not, but it's worth a shot, anyhow):

Paint Shop Pro can do that - just make sure you are saving the file as a PSP (so you can go back and edit the layers later).

I'm surprised that Illustrator doesn't work. But perhaps you aren't using the layer feature there.

Thanks for the link, it helps me out a bit. I can't get it to do everything I want to, but I guess I can do the rest in Illustrator.

Oh, and if anyone knows if this can be done with Illustrator from scratch, please let me know. Thanks.
