Has anyone ever seen or know where I might find a "mini" sand timer? Mini in this case might be 3/4" tall or something like that.

Not sure how tall they are, but you can check out

There are a few 30 second timers, in the middle of the top row that might be small enough. You might have to give them a call to find out the actual size.
So I was just looking at a ruler. Perhaps 3/4" is too small. 1" to 1.25" would be more suited to what I'm looking for.
