Using Trading Cards for my prototype: Suggestions?

Hi,

I'm trying to make poker size cards for my prototype. I designed my cards in Photoshop and printed them on 8.5 by 11 paper sheets at kinkos. Next I went to the 99cent store and bought some packs of "poker-size" playing cards (which look pretty decent since apparently the decks were played in casinos). Anyways, I cut out the cards and glued them to the back of the playing cards. The problem is that the card make very stiff and looks a little wierd.

Is this normal or did I do something wrong?

Any suggestions would be appreciated?

Thanks in advance

It might be the glue, what kind of glue did you use?

You might want to look into a spray adhesive, might help with the problem.

Zzzzz,
What kind of adhesives have you used in the past? Any that have worked better than others?

I have not tried a ton, but I tend to stick with the Krylon product line for adhesives and clear coating.

Spraying by hand is pain, but works for prototyping. I was trying to figure out a good solution for using an airbrush to apply an adhesive, but have not had a chance to try it out yet.

Super77 (Krylon? 3M?) has been the standard spray for me for a while now. It holds together well and stands up to repeated playtestings.

Interesting concept! Do you mean for mass producing or just for prototypes?

I was thinking about the airbrush for "higher quantity of prototypes". Say over 5 copies (think about using a spray can for 5 decks of say 100 cards). Spraying that much with a spray can just sucks, and I think the airbrush might apply more evenly in the long run.
