Question on Supplier

Has anyone heard anything about www.boardgamedesign.com? Are they reliable? Do they do good work? Are they a con?

The reason I ask is that I have been pricing out how much it would cost to produce a board game I have created. I have been getting quotes from the major manufacturers for about $11/game at 5000 games. Now, BoardGameDesign.com came in at $8/game and only needs 500 units.

I want to know why they are so much lower. Has anyone worked with them or heard anything about them. Advice would be great!

Cheers

Question on Supplier

BoardGameDesign.com is a division of MJS Creations. I currently have a game in production with them -- there's a discussion at

Their prices will be lower than domestic manufacturers because they use a factory in China. If the other quotes you received are also from offshore manufacturers, then you may want to double-check that MJS has quoted all the components of your game accurately, using the same specs as the others, and including shipping.

Question on Supplier

I see that your question is nearly two months old but just wanted to add that I used MJS for design and they did an awesome job with the design and idea phase. Am considering them for a second run. Did you decide to use them?

artwork

Did you supply your own artwork or did MJS Creations do that?
I am wondering if it is cheaper to get separate artist then just have game printed if mostly cards in the game?

Question on Supplier

I actually wish that I had MJS do the manufacturing too. I believe that MJS will give you a price break if they do the art work and production. For us, they did the artwork only. WE only told them what our concept was and they came up with the design and all artwork.
