Greets All!
I am looking for a vendor that makes “game boards”. I currently use several light blue ½ inch square grid system that I had printed out and laminated at Staples or Kinkos to set the stage for an ocean arena of combat. These laminated sheets (one for each game) are awesome for game play, play testing UNPUB-minis etc since it just one large sheet (48X48) and I don’t have to worry about creases or edges fitting together.
Here is the issue though, storage, transport and shipping. Any time I want to take these sheets, I have to roll them and place them in tube and unroll them where ever I play and hopefully the map has not taken the shape of the tube (seems to be worst during hotter months). For storage, I have each map hanging flat on the wall to help keep its flat shape and don’t get me started on shipping (extra cost of tube, tube gets lost, tube arrives but not game box, etc).
At a UNPUB mini a few years back, I meet up with an odd guy (odd even by my standards) that told me there is a company in the UK that prints up game board maps with either squares or hex printed on folding board with various colors of blue to simulate waves and depth etc.
Does anyone know of this company? Or recommendations of other ones to look at? Or any ideas?
Thank you in advance to this great community.

Check out this site

Check out www.Hotzmats.com. A wonderful website for creating all of your own customized hex maps for any genre or theme. I personally love the space hex maps. All hand crafted art and no two are identical.

Highly recommended to check this site out.

Let me see!

Hey ECS!
when you get your map in please let me know how you like it. I have been looking at a couple places and they are local (local to me in California compared like the UK) and they have a click and drop your design method for like $30. I just want to get more feedback from others before I invest any more money in something that looks dumb and I cannot use.
thank you for the post and I am waiting to see what you end up with.
