Pretty much a stupid question for most at first hand.
But someone who lives in a foreign country (The Netherlands) and wants to use a certain word in a game.

Well, this forum corrects my Armor into Armour. But my word corrects Armour into Armor.

What is the correct word?
Armor is American English.
And Armour is British English.
(There are several other choices of English)

Well both are correct. But when a game is supposed to be international in the future. What would be the right course of action now?
Keeping it European or go for a more common used language on the internet?

Personally,
I am used to Armor, but a lot of forums correct it into Armour. Which gives me a French feeling,.... that I don't like.

I would say Armor if you want it to look like an American game and Armour if you want it to be international. I have no justification of this and its just my personal opinion. Here in Canada we use Armour as well.

That must get pretty noisy all that clanking around. Personally, I just try to avoid swordfights.

I'd stick with whatever your word processor does, just to make it easier in retaining consistency.

Theme

I'd say match it to your theme. Since you are doing an RTS game with modern tanks and what not, I'd use armor. If you were doing a fantasy or Dark Ages game, I'd switch to armour. Often times just the spelling can help enhance theme.

Yeah, eventually it will be

Yeah, eventually it will be modern.
And I am used to Armor anyway because of all the gaming.
So Armor it is.

Thank you all for your input.

It doesn't matter which one

It doesn't matter which one you choose as long as you remain consistent in the use or non-use of the additional U in similar words. It's good to see you made a decision. It's a shame if your design got stuck on such a detail.

I actually used Armor all the time. But since recently every forum was correcting it into Armour, I was starting to get confused.
I stick with Armor. Luckily the game never was stuck on this.

I could be wrong, but I think the corrections that are suggested come from your browser and not the forum itself. If you want it to suggest what is right for your location, you might want to alter the language setting of your browser to use a specific dialect of English.
