Hi everybody,

What do you think about word games?
Are there publishers interested by new word games based on new mechanics other than the anagrams?

Thank you for any help.

Yeppers...

There are people out there looking for word games... but you are mostly looking at mass market. Which means you must make it really simple and remember that it will be a harder and harder sell (because people cannot spell so much these days). I've got one I'm shopping to mass market right now - cross your fingers ;).

However, there are some hobby publishers that will look at the occasional word game. Z-man Games is publishing BGDF member Gil Hova's Prolix this year.

Word games should be multi-leveled

Thank you for your comment.
There is always a way to create word games with 5 or 7 levels.
The lowest for kids and the highest for word-experts.
The mechanics of word games are mainly 2 :
- anagrams
- discovering or composing words using clues or constraints
No one at my knowledge have explored other paths.
The game Prolix published by Zman belong to the second mechanic.
I have a 3 word games racing-like using constraints where you have to be the first one to finish on your opponent camp.
