I don't agree with sorting them from best to worst.
Keeping them in order makes the number easier to read as I previously suggested.
Maybe the numbers can get the colours of the symbols too.

Having them in different orders will just lead to confusion. If the SAME order is maintained it's much easier to compare the races and powers more naturally. Otherwise you will be comparing different races with different powers - and everything gets mixed up (so to speak).
Right now the prototype is "Black & White" (With shades of grey). That's how I design all my games. Then when it comes time to render a colored version of the card, I usually employ the services of a Graphic Designer to make a card template I can later use to add illustrations and fill-in the contents of the card.
