I've been working on producing this game for a while now and it's finally getting close to being finished. The artwork is coming along nicely.

That looks very good. Are the colors significant? If so, the colors are quite similar and may be difficult to distinguish in low light. And for the color blind, they may not see the differences in colors as well.
I just wanted to bring to your attention in case you didn't know about it, there is a card game with the same name by James Earnest (http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/392/brawl). I don't mean to be a downer, just wanted to make you aware of it's existence. So you may want to take it into consideration if you plan to take it to market. If it's just for PnP and showing it to potential publishers, then there's no problems there as the publisher will find a name that's not used or trademarked.

In the final version each color is a different card. They are all the same card in the picture because I was just sampling how the colors looked next to each other and with the text/illustrations on top.
I did notice the other Brawl game on BGG. I figured that generic names like 'Brawl' wouldn't have any trademark issues. BGG accepted my game entry so hopefully that means its okay.
you might want to select a more readable font for the effect text on the cards

Thanks for the advice. I've swapped out the color sample image with a digital version. The other one was a picture taken of a printout with my phone. I think the digital version is much easier to read. I will be getting some prototypes made of these colors too so I can see how they look when printed on card stock with full resolution/dpi. I'll be sure to post pictures of the cards here as soon as I get them.

Its not about picture quality but simple usability. The card font(excluding the backing) doesn't seem to fit the theme of your game in the first place. Using the cursive font is neither fitting nor usable, therefore it should be changed.
A different font is definitely something I will keep in mind. I will ask about it on the play-test questionnaire to get more feedback about readability and theme.

Then you can search their database. It's not super intuitive, but it's somewhat straight forward to navigate.
I've added a picture of the latest prototype. It's the top image. Sadly I made some major changes to the game about two hours after ordering these. But they are still handy and look awesome!
