Is it offensive?

Hello! Once again: I apologize for my bad English and possible mistakes – as a Lithuanian, I studied the English only as s secondary language.

Nevertheless, I have a few questions. Currently I’m developing an ultra-light card filler which revolves around a group of leprechauns throwing golden coins inside a pot. The creatures are portrayed in a humorous, mildly ironic way. For instance, players, who take on the role of the leprechauns, may “zap” each other with aggressive spells which results in extra negative points. The question is: can people find the theme offensive? As I have already mentioned, I live in Lithuanian and thus I do not have particularly sharp intuition on refined nuances of political correctness in more western regions.

A preposterous side question: if I create a sales sheet introducing the concept of a game to a publisher, is it wrong to occasionally use different pictures I find on the web – or use those images for a prototype I might send to the company? I mean, none of those pictures will be used for the game art if published, so the usage isn’t official in the strict sense…

Thank You for Your kind attention and excuse me for wasting Your time.

Your english is very good. I don't find this theme offensive at all and I don't know anyone that would. It sounds like a fun theme for a light game. In fact it made me chuckle just reading it :)

I do not find it offensive,

I do not find it offensive, yes some over religious people might, but the majority of people are open to games even if it doesn't fit with their beliefs. Its seems like a fun card game, reminds me of some others that I have played before.
Also your English was good, Lithuanian huh? I started learning Lithuanian seemed like a really cool language but I couldn't find anyone to talk to in order to help me so I kinda stopped... Anyway, Sėkmės (I think I remembered that right)

That wouldn't be offensive to

That wouldn't be offensive to the majority of users, no worries there.

Companies generally understand that clipart gets used for prototypes. If it's particularly well integrated clipart (and might be mistaken for original art), you may want to make note of the fact that it's not your artwork, but usually they'll want to replace the art anyway.

For a sell sheet, the same rules apply (clipart is fine), but usually your page-space is better spent (aside from perhaps simple icons) with pictures of the game (whether representational or actual photos).

Thank You for the responses.

Thank You for the responses. I'm glad the theme is not an issue. I'm also grateful for the information and advice on using clip art images.
Chris3spice, wonderful to hear that someone is actually interested in Lithuanian. Malonus siurprizas, labai ačiū! People usually find this language a bit difficult, mainly because of its variegated constructions and a play of eight grammatical cases. In fact, even we native speakers sometimes find it confusing to follow all the rules of "kalbos kultūra".
