I was wondering what the general feelings about Board Game Upgrade Kits are. Specifically, it would be helpful to know about your thoughts on aftermarket upgrading of meeples or pawns to Plastic Miniatures.

I have a project up on KS right now. It's a themed kit that is inspired by and would be perfect for use with Pandemic.

This seems like a great idea to me, and I've seen a lot of excitement about it, but I'm wondering what people who are on the fence or who don't like it might be thinking as well. Is this sort of thing a good idea to bring to market or do you as designers have different thoughts on the matter?

I am working on my own game, and this theme can play into it, so I also like the idea of using it for game prototyping as well.

Thoughts? And thanks in advance for any feedback on the subject.

We may have other "Pandemic" gamers who may want to purchase a set of these minis. Cheers.

There is a large core group

There is a large core group of people who LOVE to bling out their games with upgrades, including special minis to replace pawns/meeples with.

If you can do it for a reasonable price and do it reasonably well, they should be a hit.

FYI : Backed your project!
