I have design a spaceship building game. I'm from Sweden but I need a good English name. You equip weapons and shields devices and then you join a intergalactic tournament against the others spaceships.

I want a "caching" name that is easy to remember. Maybe a short name like SIST (Stella intergalactic spaceship tournament)

Do you have any fancy ideas? I preciat all help I can get.

Rather than some abbreviation

Rather than some abbreviation I'd take something catchy, that as well transports what the game is all about. Maybe something with word play, but I am no native english speaker, so you'll need someone more familiar with the language for that.

From the content of the name I'd take something like 'Space Ship Arena' or 'Galactic Gladiators' (Same beginning letter or even syllable is also good).

Not SIST. Spoken, it is

Not SIST. Spoken, it is "Cyst." What is your target demographic?

I'll be honest, try making

I'll be honest, try making the name of your game in Sweedish, then have it in English in parenthesis).

People dig foreign sounding names.

You can play it from 7+. But

You can play it from 7+. But I want a name that I think is fun and catchy. I and 38 :-)

You build the ships from scratch so words as battleship is a little bit to big.

Does "Spacekoggs" or "Space

Does "Spacekoggs" or "Space Koggs" sounds interesting? Or is it a bad namne?

Or "Space Kogg Fighting"

Or "Space Kogg tournament"

Or SKIT "Space Kogg Intergalactic Tournament"

Or only "KOGG"

Just brainstorming, what do you think?

So, sounds like general

So, sounds like general audience, probably 12 to 34. To give you an idea on age groups. "Rocketmen: Axis of Evil," which was a great spaceship game with a terrible name, was intended for ages 8+.

How about Wreckspace: Build and Blast? It would compliment a demolition derby styled ruleset. Drop the subtitle if you aren't pandering to younger players. Starbrawl? Google doesn't bring up anything pertinent for either title.

Took me a while to figure something out...

My suggestion is:

"W.A.R!"

And it stands for:

"Weapons Armed & Ready!", the game of tactical space combat!

It draws some inspiration from the card game called "WAR" (everyone knows that game). But instead of "WAR" it's "W.A.R!"

That's my best idea...

I agree with foreign name appeal. First thing that came in mind was ancient names..
Here are "some" good ones: http://www.behindthename.com/names/usage/ancient

I like this one:
BION m Ancient Greek
Ancient Greek name derived from βιος (bios) meaning "life".

BION, sounds little like Beyond.. Then just come up something where the letters come from, if you want it to be short for something. Tough, it might remind Swedish from movies or theater?

I'd definitely steer away

I'd definitely steer away from acronyms. You want your name to stand on its own. People will acronym it on their own later.

Space Koggs sounds fun.
Wreckspace sounds fun.

Another idea might be to have a name for your tournament and use that name as the name for your game. Going with the foreign language name... Name your tournament in Swedish, then use that as the name.

At worst, go with a subtitle in english, example: "Some play for prizes, others for survival!" Whatever it might be.

How about Star Wars! ... oh wait...

Actually, how about something with "Joust" in it...

...like "Space Junk Joust" or "Jupiter Joust"

You could work in astronomy or astrology names and maybe even twist them a bit...

The following aren't great, primarily bad puns, but just to illustrate...

BattleJuice (Betelgeuse, the star)
Crashteroids
NAS-STAR (like NASCAR...probably a licensing issue there)
Crashy-u-paya (Casseopeia)
Deneb-oliton Derby
Vega Showdown (again, a licensing issue)
Kuiper Krash
Escape Velocity!

You get the idea...good luck!
