Had this prototyped a while back, it's a very simple to pick up and play party game in the spirit of Cards Against Humanity or A2A.

The toy broker I sent it to said that they didn't see any shelf space in the market for it. And it is true there are other similar games. It costs around $100 to get those games eval'd and I just don't feel like going through 8 or 10 no's for a chance at a yes (mainly comes down to funds). So I just kinda sat on the game and haven't done anything with it this past year.

Anyways let me know what you think!

Go DIRECT

Why do you feel that you need to deal with a Toy Broker???

I would simply check around for Publishers that are interested in Card games and Party games...

I'm sure you will find a few of those... And they would be responsible for bringing the game to market.

The only thing I think, is that the Before and After cards might be more *interesting* if they were in separate piles and players could draw one (1) card from each of these piles.

I think those cards make the game much more interesting (and funny!) Or maybe combine before and after cards into a single pile and draw three (3) cards from that pile and four (4) cards from the Things pile.

I think that could add some more spice to the game.

But I wouldn't give up on Publishing the game - but I would contact Publishers directly instead of dealing with a Toy Broker... That's just my opinion... :)

Note: You might want to do some interesting labelling of the piles. Instead of a "Things" pile (which sounds bad IMHO), you can name them "A", "B", and "C" and say the game is as easy as "A"+"B"+"C"!! Player choose maybe two (2) cards from pile "A", three (3) cards from pile "B" and two (2) cards from pile "C"...!

That's like your Before ("A") and After ("C"), but it maybe makes naming the piles more abstract, making the game sound more like a Party Game... "A" + "B" + "C" is a nice formula to build your game around!

Just some additional ideas! ;)

Thanks for the feedback! I

Thanks for the feedback! I really wasn't sure how to go about getting directly to publishers. Off the top of my head I know about Z-Man games. I still may check with them to see if they are interested. I thought perhaps the only people who would get listened to by the big companies are the established toy and game brokers.

Oh I see

So you wanted to have your game picked up by a LARGE manufacturer like Parker Brothers...?!

Well if you choose a smaller publisher and there are many of them. Just check out this list:

http://www.boardgamelinks.com/links/publishers

Search through those publishers to try to find someone who might be interested in your game. Again search for Party and Card game.

Not all publisher publish Party games. As for cards, sometimes a publisher will not publish Deck-Building games (as an example). I know this because my game (WIP) IS a Deck-Building game (DBG).

So that's a pretty long list you can work with...

Also have you thought about the ABC rules I mentionned? I just wanted some feedback as to what you thought about introducing more variance to the game - to make it more playable...
