I've been working with a moba game for quite sometime. The game is currently in its alpha stage and I need more people who are willing to play it. The purpose is to balance the game and find faults in the mechanics or finding ways how to make it run smoother.

I use tabletop simulator when I'm testing. So if you have got it and are interesting in testing this moba, please contact me; enjsalo@gmail.com or steam; enjsalo.

This game is a moba game influenced by computer games such as heroes of the strom, DOTA and LoL. The game is in a super hero/super villian setting.

Thanks in advance,
Niklas

I think you'll get more

I think you'll get more responses if you describe the game in more detail.
There are quite a few very different MOBA-inspired games released in the recent years, so saying "MOBA game" is almost like saying "Dungeon crawler". It can be anything.

Alright, I'll give it a

Alright, I'll give it a try...

You play in two teams, all from 2 to 4 heroes/players per team, where the objective is to destroy enemy towers. There are different maps which work a bit different, but the objective is still the same, destroy a certain number of towres of the opposing team.

Each player will choose one or two of the available characters. These characters are all unique and different. During the course of the game, these hereos and villians will gain power (experiance) and become stronger and unlock stronger powers and gain feats you choose at certain occations. They will also collect crystals (money) that they can exchange for useful equipments.

When it comes to the game mechanics, I've tried to implament a "real time strategy" mechanic;

Each character have at least 6 action cards to begin with, where there are 4 unique cards that is specific for just that hero. So there are different type of actions; attack, move, instant, interrupt and channeling actions (I wont at this point go into details). Each game round all players will choose two cards to play (a move and an attack action). When a player have reacher a certain level, they will unlock a super power (add a new action card to their arsenal of powers).

Each action can either be a fast, a normal or a slow action, which will determine the execution order of these actions. Each character has a unique initiative value that determines who will act first if there's a tie.'

So people are planning 2 actions each turn and then executing them in the initiative order. You keep doing this until you have a winner.

Part from this, there are uncontrollable team minions that will just march forward and trying to destroy the enemy towers.

The game is about working as a team and customize your hero to counter the enemy heroes; by upgrading powers, choosing talents and super power but also buying items. The idea is that there should be many different ways to play each character. Therefore I've tried to add a lot of customization.

...
We're a group that has been testing this for a while. We're playing rather frequently, most to balance the characters. But I've reached the point where I want to expand the playtesting, to include others out there, to get more ideas that can improve the game.

If this sounds interesting, you are more than welcome to come and check it out.

Thanks in advance,
Niklas

What's the game length?
I wouldn't mind looking at the rulebook.

Well, the game length has been one element of the game that I've been working on to get it shorter. As for now it varies depending on map and amount of time a player need to plan their actions. But I'd say around 3 hours, it will ofcourse take a bit longer for new players.

I'll upload a new updated version of the rulebook soon. For now all the updated rules can be found in tabletop simulator.
