Hi,

I've been designing a game for a while now, ultimately hoping to make it good enough for publication.
Really hoping someone is willing to giving me some feedback on the rules, design or anything.

The game is about going to the local neighborhood and taking the picture that best shows off your awesome life.
It's supposed to be a short card game designed to have few rules but a lot of complex and meaningful decisions.
For experienced gamers it should be a challenging game, yet easy to learn and short to play.
Newcomers, instead, should be eased into a more complex game because complexity can be introduced slowly.

I have not yet played the game with people I don't know or people who have interest in game design.
Also, I've explained the rules to everyone who has played so I'm not sure about them.

Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I was hesitant about the

I was hesitant about the theme at first, but the idea really grew on me. I think this could do quite well. I'm not going to have time to make any meaningful comments on gameplay, etc., but I do want to mention that I don't care for the LAMAL acronym. Looking at it, the words that keep springing to mind are lame, camel, llama and lamaze. It didn't keep my mind on track with the theme of the game. Part of it may be that it is written lower case, so it doesn't read like an acronym. Best of luck with the game.

Yeah it took me a while see the cards and then the game name to finally understand what LAMAL actually meant. I know you can't register or trademark "BBQ". But maybe you can find a more suitable acronym or game title than "LAMAL"...

But best of luck with your game!

Instead of 'lamal'

This sounds like fun. Maybe just call your points 'awesome' or something. So you get +5 awesome if you have a keg for example.

Awesome is so much better!

Hi,

Consensus is that lamal does not work.
Awesome is so much better than lamal, and I have no idea why I didn't think of it before,I thought about it pretty hard.
Will change this, seems so obvious with hindsight...

Thanks for the comments allready!
