Hi All

(my game) Ready Check 2.0 is here!

Inspired by fast paced tabletop games like Munchkin and chock-full of jokes, references, and stereotypes that anyone who has ever played a massively multiplayer online game can appreciate, ReadyCheck is a card based game where players take over the role of leading their guild to become the biggest, baddest, and most popular guild in their realm.

I'd love to get your feedback on our game. We made a ton of changes from the original game after a failed Kickstarter.

So below, you can find the complete game rules and a Print n' Play if you like.

Time: 30-45 min
Age: who cares
# of Cards: 100

Friendly advice - avoid munchkin comparison :)

Also, I've checked your KS page. I'm afraid your price tag is too high for a card game.

Munchkin gets an unnecessary bad rap unfortunately.

I've played Ready Check (in it's v1.0 state) and it's a solid game that has Munchkin-like qualities to it (such as the use of genre based humour and the "take-that" mechanic), but it's certainly not Munchkin.

Also, reading that BGG thread, the first two pages have only a few people stating Munchkin tbh. It just seems those that dislike it, REALLY dislike it and are quite vocal about it (almost like the Monopoly hate).

Our comparison to Munchkin is in that neither game takes itself too seriously. I definitely understand where you are coming from.

Version 1.0 of Ready Check had over 200 cards and shipped in a hard cover box. In version 2.0, we changed many of the game mechanics, reduced the card count to 100 (without sacrificing the gaming experience - in fact, we think it's just better this way), and can ship the game in a tuck box. This should translate into a significantly more wallet-friendly game. Our pledge goal and pledge tiers will come way down when we launch the new Ready Check. We are still waiting on quotes from manufacturers but I am really hoping we can be under $15 rather than over $20.

Thank you so much for your feedback!
