HI,

I am having trouble finding any of the Board game Manufacturers that will help me with a custom board. I keep getting "outside of our scope" replies.

I have at least 2 game designs that require a game board with a rotating circle attached. I need to find a manufacturer who will help me drill a hole in the middle of the board... use a plastic hub to attach a circle that would be movable. It is not a spinner... it is a turn based change in the board features.

Is there anyone here connected to a manufacturer (or knows of one) that might be able to help me?

Thanks in advance.

Alternative?

You might have some luck having the pieces manufactured separately and then have them assembled by a 3rd party. One of the manufacturers might be willing to assemble it for you as part of a packaging deal although there would be additional logistic challenges.

Sounds like a creative board - good luck with your manufacturing!

Before we start directing you

Before we start directing you to printers that may have already turned you away, who have you tried already?

I was hoping to stop the trend of no's I have been getting and ask if anyone has had a good experience having custom features on their game board.

My friend says

My friend says Ludofact-Germany manufactured the game 011 which has a set of gears mounted much like your looking for.

I don't know if this is

I don't know if this is helpful, but it might give you a lead you can follow..

There is this new game called Tzolkin. It has a lot of gears (wheels/circles) attached to the game board like you discribe. Their prototype looks like this:

You could try and send PM's to the two designers, Simone Luciani and Daniele Tasccini on BGG:

Good luck :)

If you don't mind attaching

If you don't mind attaching the circle yourself, we make both game boards and spinner mats (a circle with a hole in it). We just don't have a way to fasten one to the other. Not sure if you're looking for a full production run, or just a few for your own use/sales.

How about tiles?

I read a FAQ by another game designer who recommended Panda Game Manufacturing. Their website is http://pandagm.com/services. I haven't contacted them personally, but he stands by them.

In the same line of thought, (and seeing how I haven't spoken with Panda), I have a game with unique tile design, but most manufacturers I've investigated only make various iterations of square/rectangle, circle, or basic hex tiles. Any ideas?

Thanks.
