The most recent version of protograf - a desktop tool to help you design boards, tiles, cards and boxes for your prototype - has just been released.
Quick blurb: protograf is a free, open source, cross-platform tool for scripting a design. It is not web-based and does not have a GUI, but offers sensible out-the-box options to get started on your design, while allowing a reasonable range of customization options to create neat and usable graphic layouts.
This latest version adds a new basic shape, called a "Band", and then allows both Bands and Rectangles to be customised and then joined together to create RaceTracks. An example can be seen in the attached image.
