I've been putting a bunch of time lately into a real-time battle game called KaPOW! It's a team game with 2-8 players. It's been well tested so far and well received in it's prototype stage. I've put together some rules and preliminary designs, which I've used to create a little Game Crafter page.

I would love thoughts on the designs and the rules. They are all subject to change. Especially, interested if the rules are easy to follow and understand. Also, I'd like KaPOW! to be more for a broader audience. I currently have a fighting theme, but am considering using more generic cards if I determine that might appeal more broadly. These are all non-final designs. I'll post more designs of the cards soon.

Thanks!

The Game Crafter page: https://www.thegamecrafter.com/games/kapow- (I rated my game a 5. Is there an unstated policy about game designers rating their own games? It that kosher or no?)

video

If you are interested, I've also posted a little video of the game being played on my website (the website is only about 20% done).

more videos

Since the game is a real-time game, video's of the game in action give a good idea of the game. So I've actually gone ahead and posted a bunch of earlier prototype videos on my blog if anyone is interested.

Seems pretty fun. It looks

Seems pretty fun.

It looks like it plays similar to a combination of the game "speed" and a game called "Nertz".

thanks

Thanks. Nertz is actually pretty much the same as a game called "Dutch Blitz." KaPOW, though, has a lot more player interaction than these, and most speed games I've seen than are for more than 2 players.
