Is there a "standard" size for oversized cards?

Hi all,

I've been working on a board game and most of the cards are standard poker size (2½ x 3½"). However, some of the cards need to be oversized because of the information required on the cards. I've been trying to put some prototypes together, but I'm just guessing as to how much "card real estate" I have to work with. The prototypes for the poker cards are easy. I know those dimensions, but I'm not sure about the oversized ones. I was just going to add an inch to each side to make it easy, but I don't want the manufacturer to have to create a special die to cut the cards. If there's already an accepted oversize, those dimensions would be very helpful! I searched the forum and I see many references to card sizes, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Printerstudio.com

Printerstudio.com (Artscow-like) has the option to print custom oversized cards. Haven't checked the exact dimensions (although I'm dying to create a card game that can use them) but iirc they're advertised as 50% larger than regular poker cards.
Maybe not OVERsized but bigger anyway :-)

Thanks for your input

Thanks for your input, everyone!

I got a suggestion from another source to try Tarot sized cards (2.757 inches x 4.723 inches). This seems pretty good to me, so I'll go with it for now.

Tarot Sized Cards

Hey, I just had a round of Tarot-sized cards (2.75x4.75) printed for a new game. Superior POD would not return my calls regarding the special order, so I used Chicago Game and Card instead to print them, and they turned out great! Oversized cards just FEEL better, ya know? Keep in mind they are a different aspect ratio than regular cards, so its difficult to downsize them to normal poker or bridge size if you change your mind...
