We’re pleased to announce that tiles are now double-sided at The Game Crafter! This affects the following products:

Small Hex Tile
Large Hex Tile
Small Square Tile
Large Square Tile
Small Square Board
Large Square Board

All of these products are now printed on both sides. In addition, this upgrade comes at no additional cost! It’s a free upgrade!

If you already have a game with tiles, then the backs of your tiles will just come with a plain white backing. If you would like it to be printed, then simply attach a back to your tiles to replace the plain white image that we’ve attached for you. All orders in our system past order #32797 will be automatically upgraded to use the new double sided tiles.

Along with this upgrade we’ve dramatically improved the accuracy of tile cutting. It’s still not quite as good as cards, but it is very close. Enjoy!

Awesome!

Out of curiosity, are shards double-sided as well? If not, any chance that may be in the pipeline?

Very *nice* addition

Adding the second side to tiles and boards is GREAT! It adds AMAZING *new* possibility to all tile-based games!

It reminds me of games such as "Survive!" which had hex tiles with HIDDEN writing on the back of the tile...

REALLY a FANTASTIC addition! :D

Shards have always been

Shards have always been double sided. But I think you actually want to ask about chits. We don't have chits yet, but we will soon and they will be double sided.

Awesome! I wasn't sure, since some other 2-sided items specifically mentioned being printed on both sides.

What's the difference between chits and shards?

The type of paper

I believe the difference is in the type of paper.

Shards I know are printed on 285 gsm cardstock while chits are perhaps printed on thicker chipboard.

I could be incorrect... JT would have to confirm.

questccg is correct. Shards

questccg is correct. Shards are printed on the same card stock as our playing cards. Chits are basically like small tiles. They are printed on thick chipboard. They come out to about 2mm thick once all is said and done.

Will you be offering "chits" (2mm chipboard) in a ROUND shape?

This reminds me of small POGs which can make GREAT damage markers (for example)!!!
