I am in the beginning stages of working on a game. I am a decent artist but I cannot match up with the images I have in my head. I'm looking for somone who can create pictures of medieval characters, weapons armor, items, a map and a few other things. I am open to suggestions but I have a pretty good idea in my head of what I am looking for. Definitely not Anime/Final fantasy style. More realistic simple drawings if that makes any sense. I cannot guarantee this will ever go to market so I cannot offer much in terms of payment. You would get full credit for artwork in any publication along with copies if it ever does get completed. This is my first such endeavor for if I am way out of line and artists normally are paid up front, get a % if produced or someting please let me know and we can negotiate.

Often components, board

Often components, board layout etc... must be changed after a playtest to fix problems in the game and this can happen even when you have had 12 problem free playtests in a row and are sure its ready.

Although you might want to start talking to someone about it now don’t have any finished art done until you game is at a point where the components won’t change.

There are several quality artists that post from time to time plus im sure a few lukers too.

Concept Art and Rates.

As an artist and designer I often do concept work right along side my game development. Each new prototype has better art and better play. Most companies are not willing to develop like this however because you could end up spending 8-$10,000 for art.

Anyways, let me know if you want my help at all with your project. I normally work for about $20 an hour. Though my rates might go up because I can sell drawings at a similar rate. Anyways, I tend to be able to give really solid quotes within $100. So, if you tell me more about your components I could give you a quote overnight. (probably best to e-mail me)

Most people ask me so sign non-disclosures so sadly I don't have much of last years work up on the site yet, just a few of my own designs (like Water to Water).

Dralius- Yes good point I was not looking to finalize anything I was merely hoping to get a few samples from artists to see which are even close to what I am envisioning. I see this step as a long drawn out portion but perhaps it is not as difficult as it seems.
