Does anyone know if you are allowed to take a picture of a CAR and use it in your board game?
If not, what if I remove the cars logo?

Thanks for the replies!

I think as long as it is

I think as long as it is youre pictur I think it is ok (you ither bought the pictur, the rights to use it or have taken it by youre self). If you remember the old german card game, with lots of difrent theems, one of them is card. You chuse a card say a stats and the oponent choos a card and you revel them at the same time. The highest number winns. This game uses picturs of real cars and I do not think they have bought special rights to the individual cars. But then again I could be wrong =S but to my knowlege aslong as you own the rights to the pictur you should be ok.

I guess the quickest answer is to look at Polyphony's Gran Turismo series. They'd had to pay licensing fees to gain access and to use those cars in GT. I'd say it'll be similar, especially if you want to take it to print.

GT is a not a board game, rather a Video Game - a totally different medium, but I can see the same issues cropping up with using trade-marked motor vehicles in a board/card game.

But here's the link if you're still interested:
