Okay ... So I just wanted to state that I am looking into designing and developing a Mobile Android App for "Dual Dice" (DD). I guess it's not a big surprise that I would be exploring this, I mean ... It's a way to get the word out for DD ... And to help sell the physical dice.

No Ads but the App will cost $2.99 CAD (which is 1.85 Euros and $2.15 USD).

I know that MANY Apps are FREE. But there is little interest or commitment at the $0.00 price point. What do I mean? Well I mean that IF you get the app for FREE... People are going to download and try it and then either ignore it or uninstall it. Not because it's a BAD App... Just because they've satisfied their curiosity at the FREE LEVEL.

I want to avoid that. And I really don't care if I get 100 or 1,000 people who BUY into the App ... Because I know this is people who are genuinely INTERESTED in what I am OFFERING them.

So far the webstore has seen over 1,000 Views in 19 Days, which is not too much but at the same time... Some hits ... But no orders yet. And I'm fine with that. I'm actually happy how things are going: people get to see what is being offered and then when I canvas stores (I've been checking out a few), I can offer access to the webstore and the stores can figure out IF they want to buy from the webstore or DIRECTLY from me (as direct I offer a discount).

But that's a deal that is ONLY available to stores in my immediate area.

I've already downloaded the software and environment for the Mobile App. I also installed Visual Studio Community Edition for the C# integration. We'll see how all of this goes... Because I currently have INSUFFICIENT RAM on that Dev Box. It's got like 3.88 GB ... Because the box only has 4 GB RAM. A few days ago I bought 8 GB more RAM and I'm waiting for that to arrive.

That will give me 8 GB of RAM to run the environment and code the App. I've already RE-RENDERED the two (2) Dice in Blender... A few days ago... When it took me like 4 hours to model from 0 the dice. And then 1 minute to generate both Ebony and Ivory DD.

I remembered HOW(?) I made the initial versions of the DD STL in Blender... But had forgotten how to make them a reality. It took me some time, but I worked from scratch with the files that I had and understood how to make the dice given the various operations. I would say 50% was my skills and 50% was some Googling examples to get to the end result.

And they look just as beautiful as the ORIGINAL "renders". I also took the time to EXPORT them and we'll see HOW(?) I can use them in the Mobile App.

One thing at a time: RAM first. And then we'll start to tackle the App.

Anyhow... If you have questions, feel free to ask away. Do you have concerns that an App is not the best way to go to "expand" the DD Brand?! Feel free to share with me your thoughts. Or if you have questions about my market strategy feel free to reply and tell me what bothers you. All feedback is welcomed.

Cheers all!

Got my new RAM installed today

Finally the old Dev Box is now at 12 GB RAM. It was using 3.55 GB RAM on a 4 GB RAM configuration... And was nearly at 90% of RAM being used by the SYSTEM and the Browser... If I open more tabs in Chrome... The PC would simply run out of memory.

So I purchased an 8 GB RAM chip for the Dev Box and now have 8 GB RAM for Visual Studio Community Edition for code in C#. 8 GB RAM is a lot of free RAM ... But rest assured, I'm sure importing and creating code for Unity will take some of that memory too.

Especially if I am managing several projects to compare code and get a better understanding on how to work with Unity. I have ZERO (0%) experience with Coding Mobile Apps.

But we'll see. TBH... I'm open to doing tutorials and samples to help me understand how coding a Mobile App works and gets me to the finish line quicker.

So I will be working on that in the next few months as I learn and test the framework for coding my mobile app for rolling Dual Dice (DD).

Best.
