Hello all my is Pat,
I have been looking at getting into actually publishing my board game and taking it to the next level. I have been trying to look up on here if it's worth it to sell my game by myself or take it a to a publisher? I want to make money of my board game is that even possible? Is it worth the time and effort to do it also, or is it just mere pennies in comparison? Any info would be great thanks.

Money wise you will potentially make more self publishing..but all of the cost and risk is yours...as well as doing all of the leg-work/expense to do all the things you need to do to get your game out there (i.e. advertising, booths at conventions like GenCon and ToyFair) You will also be able to control how the final game looks and theme etc. (Game pblishers may like your game but may decide to change the theme from marauding vikings to nut hoarding squirrels)
