Greetings everyone!

In a tale that may seem utterly unbelievable to you, dear reader, a couple of long term gamer friends and myself have a couple of games we're interested in publishing. So now that's out of the way, and since you're on the edge of your seat for further details, here's our tale.......

*clears throat*

I've been a board-gamer, role-player, CCG collector / player since about 1989. I cut my teeth on boxed set D&D (basic), Talisman and Space Hulk. In the intervening years I have ran many a game, co-hosted a podcast, play tested a few local games and have finally taken the plunge into fulfilling my real dream - creating a board game.

On the one hand we have Brent. He grew frustrated with table top miniature battle games almost 15 years ago and swore to develop something that would be more straightforward, action oriented and accessible. His game, lovingly built upon over these years, is now being playtested into the dark-ages.

On the other hand you have Sean and myself. Sean is absolutely brilliant and incredibly capable, and coincidentally a fine gamer who knows more about board games than any three people I know. Our game was designed with the mindset of limited randomness, strategic and tactical play and, forgive the bragging, awesomeness. This game, also, has started the playtesting process.

Both games are nearing the publication step, and we're weighing out all options carefully. We genuinely love the games we've built and believe that they are highly playable and downright enjoyable.

I am sure to have questions, but first I will lurk, peruse, study and read so I can hopefully not ask the questions you've heard a hundred times - or at least find a new way to ask them. ;)

In return, I will share what gems of experience and insight I may have, and hope to balance the scales of appreciation for the help I'm bound to receive.

Thanks everyone, I look forward to future interactions.

*salute*

Wow, my writing stinks...

Let me be the first to welcome you and congratulate your for getting past the first gate in your herculian task; Captcha. If you can get past that you have what it takes to get things published.

Though looking through past posts is a great idea, we are a friendly community and are more than happy to answer repeat questions. :)

Danke!

Thanks Redcap, for both the warm greeting and offer of help. :)

I'm not going to lie, this whole Captcha thing was touch and go at first. Lucky for me perseverance is my middle name.

PS - Redcap a la Changeling?

Y'know, I've wondered the same thing, but never asked.

...and welcome to the forum. I look forward to reading more about your venture, and (hopefully) providing insights for your questions.

Where would my mystique be if I just went around telling everyone the implications of my user name.
