Hello Jason ... Do you know HOW these Add-Ons work? Is it per reward or simply per campaign? The difference being that for Reward "A" you could also buy "Add-On #1, #2 or #3". OR is it if you buy anything (any reward tier), you can also buy "Add-on #1, #2 or #3"???
It's in BETA ... And they ask you to fill-out a bunch of question regarding the project you wish to "offer" these Add-Ons. I personally don't need it, because it would be a 1st Release, so everything is "required" (nothing is optional) ... But I can picture in a year or two, offering some components such as a Crystals Bag or Custom Dice ... Those could be VALID "Add-Ons" for rewards that later only offer Game Tiles. So for people NEW to the game, it makes sense that they might want to pick-up the necessary components required for the game, while others who have been following the journey and have bought previously may only want the Game Tiles.
Could be interesting but for me, only in the FUTURE! Cheers.
Note #1: Come to think of it ... Maybe even Dry-Erase Pens/Markers could be a valid "Add-On" even for player who do have one ... but might want to buy for each player. Hmmm... That could be interesting and it would cost like $5.00 USD per pen. It being an "Add-On" it would be pure profit... Because some players may WANT their own pen...
Thanks for sharing this with us... It gives me something to think about!
This just sounds like BUY "X" if you want to ... And the price is "$Y" dollars. Pretty much means you can sell anything related to your game, right? This makes me think about the OLDER KS in the past where they were selling Mugs, T-Shirts, Baseball Cap, Buttons, anything with game content on it ... But nothing related to the game itself!
Obviously it makes sense to say: "It will offer pens for $A dollars" because they are "relevant" to the game, not Mugs and Buttons which add ZERO (0) value to the game.
And TBH, I've seen White Wizard Games offer a bunch of Add-Ons when they launched Sorcerer. Here there is an ADD-ON Section:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1172937197/sorcerer-endbringer
I'm sure I've seen OTHER "White Wizard Games" that offered way much MORE that just that too! One had so much, they were offering KS pledges to BUY-into any of their previous games (Epic, Star Realms, Hero Realms, etc.) I know Sorcerer does this a little bit... But I remembered seeing one campaign that was INSANELY offering more Add-On content than the KS itself! (LOL)
Here I found it: Sorcerer 1:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1172937197/sorcerer-1
If you scroll down to the near bottom of the KS page, you will find a TON of Add-Ons for Star Realms, EPIC, and Hero Realms. It's insane! Anyways this was the Version that I was initially looking for...
Feel free, as always, to share your thoughts.
Yeah, you could always do add-ons if you didn't mind a major headache of figuring out what people were trying to buy. Or you'd have to use something like BackerKit after things closed. Now (I assume) the KS owner will get a nice list, and those add-ons count toward the goal.
For my own campaigns, I definitely would've done Custom Artwork as a limited-edition add-on and saved myself some hassle -- a customer who wants two pieces of art, or wants a multi-game bundle plus a piece of art had to be handled by me personally, with messages back and forth and remembering the extra orders.

I haven't done a new KS using it, but it sounds like you can just sell stuff a la carte in the campaign, and it counts toward your total as it should. I don't know if you can screw around with shipping or not, but I'd assume so (so an extra set of pens for $5 + $1 S&H added)
